Wintech’s Rail Car Moving Systems are engineered to handle the demanding task of spotting railcars with precision and safety. These systems use electric winches with variable speed control, integrated braking, and rugged construction to move railcars in one or two directions depending on your operational needs.

System Configurations

Wintech offers multiple configurations to suit different applications:

  • Single Winch / One Direction Ideal for straightforward push-pull operations.
  • Single Winch / Two Direction (Grooved Drum) One cable on, one cable off design for bi-directional movement.
  • Two Winches / Two Direction (Smooth Core Drum) One winch pulls while the other freespools, maintaining tension and control.

  • Linespeed Range: 5 fpm to 30 fpm

  • Gear System: Parallel helical gear reducer with final chain drive or direct drive

  • Brake System: 16″ bronze drag brake for controlled tension during freespooling optional

  • Manual & Auto Modes: Operators can manually control winches for setup or switch to automatic joystick control for movement.
  • Dual Potentiometer Panel: Allows fine-tuning of torque and speed.
  • Failsafe Braking: Automatically engages during power loss or emergency stop.
  • Zero-Speed Holding: Maintains full load at zero speed for long-duration positioning.
